COVID-19 LOOKING BACK

Dear Colleagues,

over the past three years, our community has faced challenges due to the persistent SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The pandemic had a profound impact on our lives, resulting in an increase in mortality and severe health and socio-economic consequences. As the pandemic's intensity has decreased over the past year and the immunity of the population has improved, there has also been a corresponding reduction in the level of health service involvement. Nevertheless, the pandemic's effects has proven to be long-lasting, and the SARS-CoV-2 infection, with its consequential long-term effects, has become a pervasive aspect of our lives.

The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has spurred global research efforts that have played a significant role in its containment. Many scientific institutions have been at the forefront of this research. The results of these investigations have not only shed new light on the virus but have also prompted the adoption of new methodologies and scientific approaches in various domains.

In light of this progression, I am pleased to invite you to attend "COVID-19: Looking Back" conference organized by the Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University in Bratislava. The conference will focus on the lessons learned from SARS-CoV-2 research, as well as on the novel questions that have emerged from the results. We have an opportunity to exchange experiences and participate in scientific meetings that can facilitate future research.

We would be honored if you could join us at this conference.

Best regards,

Pavol Janega
